Equally Well UK has today published a guide for people who are living with a mental illness about maintaining physical health during the restrictions brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Looking after your health during Covid-19: A guide for people living with severe mental illness provides useful information and links to essential resources and sources of help about a range of physical health issues. They include advice on stopping smoking, on healthy eating and on physical activity during the lockdown.

The guide provides useful links to sources of help and advice, including the NHS Volunteer Responder Scheme for anyone with a mental illness who needs help with essential shopping and prescriptions during this time. It also provides advice about managing medication, experiencing and recovering from coronavirus and about financial wellbeing.

The guide was commissioned by NHS England and produced by Centre for Mental Health with support from Rethink Mental Illness and advice from experts by experience and by profession through the Equally Well UK collaborative. Each section provides practical hints and tips along with links to sources of further help available online and by phone.
